Middle Park fishing report 3-11-19

Here is your middle park report for the week of 3-11-19-19 The ice is reaching over 20" on a lot of our lakes up here. We did get a lot of snow on the lakes, slush is a problem again, but is starting to crust over. A big storm is supposed to hit tomorrow, so we will see how it goes.Williams Fork, The bite for the 12 - 17'' lake trout has remained constant with most of the action coming between sunrise until noon. Small spoons and plastics (single tail grubs, flukes, tubes) under 3 inches jigged in 40 to 80 feet of water have been producing fish. Pike are be seen by fisherman sight fishing in huts cruising in shallow water (10' or less). Rainbows remain active in shallow water (10 feet or less) from sunrise until about 8:30. Look for shallow flats in front of or around large bays to find the highest concentration of rainbows. Recent heavy snowfall has left most of the lake very slushy, some spots may have 6'' to 1' of water on top of the ice. To book a trip call Sam at (720) 666-0141 to book with Jake ‭(303) 434-8468‬.

Grand Lake, The slush is very bad but the surface is starting to crust over. Due to the slush we have not fished Grand Lake last week.

Lake Granby also has a slush problem. The rainbows are starting to spawn in the rivers and along the shorelines. Small bright colored jigs in less than 10' of water should produce fish. Lake trout are suspending over deeper water. White biobait twister tails on 3/8 oz heads are accounting for a good number of these fish. Jigging tubes on the bottom is also catching fish.

Weekly Middle Park report for the week of 3-3-19

Here is your middle park report for the week of 3-3-19-19 The ice is reaching over 20" on a lot of our lakes up here. We did get a lot of snow on the lakes, slush might become a problem again. The wind drifting snow is continuing to cause problems for people on the "back roads".

Williams fork is starting to pick back up after the tournament last weekend for the 12 - 17'' lake trout. Small spoons and plastics (single tail grubs, flukes, tubes) under 3 inches jigged in 40 to 80 feet of water have been producing fish. Pike are becoming more active in shallow water (15 feet or less) however the bite is hit and miss (some days they are very difficult if not impossible to get to bite) . Rainbows remain active in shallow water (10 feet or less) from sunrise until about 8:30. The rainbows and browns are eating small jigs tipped with wax worms in less the 10' of water. Lake trout Are being caught in 30-80' of water. Tubes, twisters and spoons all seem to be working well. Rainbows are very good along the shorelines. Small jigs or spoons tipped with wax worms in 3-10' of water are getting bit until around 9 am. Lake trout are being caught in 30-100' of water.
